About this place
The aroma of bonito and niboshi rising from the clear broth is an inviting start. At Ramen Narumiya, the menu centres on soy sauce ramen with a seafood-based stock. The standard ramen comes with chashu, menma, nori and komatsuna, paired with smooth, thin straight noodles that sit lightly in the broth.
For a more generous helping of toppings, the Chashu Ramen adds extra slices of thick, tender chashu that readily falls apart. The Special Ramen comes with seasoned egg and nori. The seafood-rich soy sauce broth, soft-centred egg and crisp menma bring a pleasing range of textures to the bowl.
Side dishes include a mini chashu rice bowl, rice with menma and rice topped with egg. There is also a snack set and bottled beer, making it easy to put together a meal to suit your appetite.
The compact dining room has counter seating only and a calm, quiet atmosphere. The restaurant is open from lunchtime until 16:00, and accepts cash only. Along a street in Jujo Nakahara, it offers a quiet place to savour a carefully prepared take on classic seafood-soy sauce ramen.
